Intro to vocal anatomy & Pedagogy
Summer 2025 Online Course

Are you curious about how the voice works?
Are you a choral educator who never had the opportunity to take Vocal Pedagogy in college and now have questions?
Are you a singer that wants to understand their instrument in a fuller context?
Have you never heard about how the voice works and might be intimidated?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then this 4-week course is for YOU! I have developed the Intro to Vocal Anatomy & Pedagogy course specifically for beginners or those who want a refresher on the basics. I’m Dr. Bethany Worrell, and in addition to being a working soprano and vocal professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, I am enthralled by how the voice works! When I took my first courses in pedagogy and started reading the literature and asking deeper questions, it gave an electric jolt to both my singing and teaching. I want to share the same fascinating information with others and help you find new inspiration in your own teaching/singing journey.
This is also an ONLINE course that will happen SYNCHRONOUSLY (we will all meet on Zoom in real time). We will meet from 6-7 PM Central time during the first 4 weeks of July twice per week on the following dates:
July 1 & 3
July 8 & 10
July 15 & 17
July 22 & 24
ALL classes will be recorded and made available to you for further study and consult, so there is no need to worry if you need to miss a live session.
Throughout the length of the course, I will upload readings to our Google Classroom and also share short homework assignments that will help you to review, process, and get a better understanding of the concepts covered.
The entire course cost is $200 / person. This includes the 8 synchronous classes, recordings of classes, readings, and short assignments to help you synthesize information.
